Hello, I am buying a fish tank for my 5 year-old son. I have narrowed down my choices for a small tank to the All Glass mini-bow 2.5 gallon or the All glass mini bow 5 gallon. I have been researching and see that with such small tanks, it limits my options for fish. I want his tank to be colorful and I want 5-6 fish in it. (that’s why i looked at a bigger tank) I love Male Bettas and they don’t need as much space as other fish, but I am aware that they are very aggressive fish. What kind of fish could i put with a Male betta? Or is there another fish with flowing, colorful fins like a Male betta, but that is less aggressive?

My mother refuses to buy any food that comes from China, but I like to eat all kinds of fish & sea food & find it hard to find the varieties in my local area. Just today I purchased frozen wild roughy, wild salmon & wild mahi-mahi. When I looked at the label, they all said "imported from China". Am I taking a big risk of getting sick or poisoned as my mother claims?
cactusone: I would love to be able to buy those fish locally, but if you had read my Q, you would have noticed that I said I cannot find them fresh. However, I buy all my shell fish locally as that is no problem.

First, I am very picky about my fish and really don’t know what kind to purchase. I don’t like any of my fish to be fishy tasting it has to be extremely mild even extra mild. I want to start making it at home but not sure what kind to buy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
